The Lawrence Arms is a punk rock band formed in Chicago in 1999 by Brendan Kelly, Chris McCaughan and Neil Hennessy. The trio, previously active in Slapstick, the Broadways and Baxter, used Asian Man Records to issue their debut full‑length A Guided Tour Of Chicago in 1999 and Ghost Stories in 2000. In 2001 the band signed to Fat Wreck Chords, released the single "Fat Club" and the album Apathy And Exhaustion (2002), which spawned videos for "Porno and Snuff Films" and "The Devil's Takin' Names". Subsequent releases—The Greatest Story Ever Told (2003), Oh! Calcutta! (2006), Buttsweat And Tears (2009), Metropole (2014) via Epitaph and Skeleton Coast (2020)—were followed by extensive touring, a Warped Tour appearance, and side‑project work with the Falcon and Sundowner.
