The Blue Hawaiians

The Blue Hawaiians, a surf rock group from Los Angeles, formed in 1994. The band initially gained recognition following appearances on the soundtrack of the television series Friends and the 1996 film Sex. Their debut album, Christmas On The Big Island, was released in 1995. The Blue Hawaiians composed and recorded music for the cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants, including songs like “Hawaii Bob” and “War Blower”. Their song “A Cheat” was featured in an advertisement for Guess Jeans. The band's lineup included bassist/vocalist Mark Fontana, lead guitarist Mark Sproull, and steel/rhythm guitarist Gary Brandin.
