Soot Sprite are a UK-based indie rock band who have been making waves in the alternative music scene with their distinct blend of dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes and gritty, guitar-driven rock. Known for their raw energy, emotive lyrics, and engaging live performances, the band have quickly built a dedicated following across the UK and beyond. Formed in the late 2010s, Soot Sprite were born out of a shared love for both classic rock influences and modern alternative sounds. The band, named after the enigmatic creatures from the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away, combine elements of shoegaze, post-punk, and grunge to create a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The band gained significant recognition in the late 2010s with their debut EP, Sharp Tongue (2019), which was praised for its tight production and compelling songwriting. Soot Sprite’s debut full-length album, "Wield Your Hope Like A Weapon" (2025), marked a major milestone in their career.
