A trio from Totnes, Devon, England, Pale Blue Eyes are one of the dream pop/shoegaze bands of the 1990s. Taking their name from the classic track from The Velvet Underground's third album, the band is made up of husband-and-wife team Matthew and Lucy Board (vocals and guitar, drums respectively) and Aubrey Simpson (bass). Meeting at art school and married in 2018, the former met the latter at the Sea Change festival to form Pale Blue Eyes in 2019. After a first single released by Broadcast Recordings in 2021, "Motionless", the trio signed with the Full Time Hobby label to record two albums, Souvenirs (2022) and This House (2023), followed by the EP Club PBE #04, resulting from a session for Radio X. In 2025, the third album, New Place, was released on the Broadcast label.
