Miguel Alejandro

Miguel Ángel Lunardi, known professionally as Miguel Alejandro, was born on 15 May 1958 in Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina, and pursued a career as a singer. He began performing at age eighteen with the local group Legión Extranjera, and in 1984 recorded a demo that would seed his solo career. His first studio effort, Miguel Alejandro, appeared in 1985, followed by Con fuerza (1986) and Insuperable (1987). The breakthrough came with the 1988 release De Córdoba para el País, which included the singles "Nena juguetona" and "Por robarte un beso", propelling him into national recognition. In 1989 he signed with Magenta Discos, issuing El Ganador (1990) that expanded his presence to Buenos Aires and the capital. Subsequent albums El Conejito de Oro (1991), Septiembre (1992), and Un Elegido (1993) consolidated his status within the cuarteto genre. After a prolific period of thirteen albums by 1999, he retired from performance, transitioning to production work for Córdoba acts such as Banda XXI and El Resto. Miguel Alejandro's catalog remains a staple of Argentine cuarteto, with his 1988 album maintaining a lasting legacy in the region's musical heritage.
