Ich + Ich

Annette Humpe was born on March 28, 1950 in Hagen. Adel Tawil was born in Berlin on August 15, 1978. Together they form the pop duo Ich + Ich in Berlin in 2003. Annette Humpe is a former band member of Ideal, singer, composer and producer, Adel Tawil takes over the vocals. Ich + Ich's music combines German-language pop with elements of soul, R'n'B and electronic influences. The debut album Ich + Ich is released on April 18, 2005 and reaches number 10 in the German charts. The single "Du erinnerst mich an Liebe" becomes a hit and reaches number 4 in the German singles charts. The album Vom selben Stern follows in 2007, which enters the album charts at number 1 and goes six times platinum in Germany. The singles "Vom selben Stern", "Stark" and "So soll es bleiben" each reach the top 3 of the charts and go platinum. On November 13, 2009, the duo released their third album Gute Reise, which again reached number 1 in the German charts. The single "Pflaster" enters the singles charts at number 1 and becomes a commercial success. Further singles such as "Universum" and "Einer von Zweien" follow. Ich + Ich receive numerous awards, including the Golden Tuning Fork as the most successful pop duo in 2005 and 2006, the 1Live Krone as Best Band in 2008 and the DIVA Award as Music Artist of the Year. In 2009, the duo won the Golden Camera in the National Music category, the ECHO for Best National Rock/Pop Band and the Music Author Award for the most successful work. In 2010, the Ich + Ich production team was awarded the ECHO for the most successful production. In 2011, two further ECHO awards followed for the most successful artist in rock/pop nationally and for best live act. Following the success of Gute Reise, Annette Humpe increasingly withdraws from the limelight. Adel Tawil takes over the majority of the live performances. The duo has been officially on hiatus since 2010.
