Pur

Pur is a pop band from Germany. The band's beginnings date back to 1975, but it was not until 1983 that Pur released their debut album Opus. The band released further albums with Vorsicht Zerbrechlich (1985), PUR (1987) and Wie Im Film (1988). Pur first attracted attention with the melancholy single "Wenn Sie Diesen Tango Hört" in 1989. The next album Unendlich Mehr brought Pur its first chart position in 1990, reaching number 45 and gold status. The single "Lena" made it into the charts in 1991. With the following album Nichts Ohne Grund, Pur made it into the top 20 of the German charts for the first time at number 13. The 1993 album Seiltänzertraum is Pur's commercial breakthrough. The album climbs to number 2 in the German charts and reaches triple platinum status. The song "Hör Gut Zu" also becomes a hit. In 1995, Pur climbs to the number 1 position in the German charts for the first time with the album Abenteuerland. The longplayer reaches triple platinum status again. The band scores another hit with the song "Ich Lieb' Dich (Egal Wie Das Klingt)". Further number 1 albums in Germany and even more hits followed, including " Wenn Du Da Bist" (1997) from the album Mächtig Viel Theater, "Adler Sollen Fliegen" and "Herzbeben" (both from 2000) from the album Mittendrin and "Ich Denk An Dich" (2003) from the album Was Ist Passiert?, Pur's first number 1 single. In 2018, Pur released their album Zwischen Den Welten. Finally, the best-of album 100% Das Beste aus 40 Jahren with the single "Keiner Will Alleine Sein" is released in 2020. Pur receive various awards for their music, including the Echo, the German Music Award, the Bambi, the Goldene Europa and the Goldene Kamera several times. After a four-year break, Pur released a new studio album, Persönlich, in 2022. The album climbs to number 3 in the German album charts.
