Hand Habits

Meg Duffy, born in Amsterdam, New York, is an American musician and guitarist who started playing drums at age 5 and guitar at 17. After graduating from Schenectady County Community College for guitar performance, Duffy began her music career as a session musician, contributing to albums by The War on Drugs, Weyes Blood, Perfume Genius, and others. In 2012, they released the split record Small Shifts under the moniker Hand Habits. As Hand Habits, Duffy released several EPs and full-length albums including Wildly Idle (Humble Before the Void) in 2017, Placeholder in 2019, and Fun House in 2021. Notable singles include "Something Wrong" and "Motherless". In 2023, Hand Habits released the EP Sugar the Bruise, co-produced by Duffy and Luke Temple. The same year saw the release of the joint album Doubles with Gregory Uhlmann. In 2025, Hand Habits followed up with her fourth solo album, Blue Reminder.
