Marissa Nadler

Marissa Nadler, born on April 5, 1981, in Washington D.C., is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. She began her musical journey as a teenager, teaching herself to play guitar and writing songs as a hobby. In 2004, she released her debut album Ballads of Living and Dying on Eclipse Records, marking the start of her professional music career. Nadler's subsequent albums include The Saga of Mayflower May (2005), Songs III: Bird on the Water (2007), and Little Hells (2009). In 2013, she signed with Sacred Bones Records and released July in 2014, which debuted at Number 16 on the Billboard Folk Albums chart. Notable collaborations include work with Angel Olsen and contributions to the black metal project Xasthur. Nadler's music blends traditional folk, Gothic Americana, and dreamy pop, earning her critical acclaim for her distinctive mezzo-soprano vocals. Her tenth full-length studio album, New Radiations, was released in August 2025.
