GBH

GBH, an English punk rock band, was formed in 1978 by vocalist Colin Abrahall, guitarist Colin "Jock" Blyth, bassist Sean McCarthy, and drummer Andy "Wilf" Williams. Initially known as Charged GBH, the group shortened their name to GBH in 1984. GBH's early career saw them pioneering British street punk, often associated with the UK82 movement alongside bands like Discharge and The Exploited. Their debut LP, City Baby Attacked by Rats, released in 1982, reached Number 17 on the UK Albums Chart and Number 2 on the UK Indie Chart. This success was followed by extensive touring in America and Europe, including notable performances at the Carlisle Punk Festival. The band's second LP, City Babys Revenge, further solidified their status with more high-profile shows. Throughout their career, GBH maintained a strong following both in the UK and internationally, releasing albums such as Momentum in 2017. Their influence extends to various genres, including metal and rock, inspiring bands like Metallica and Nirvana. The core lineup of Colin Abrahall, Ross Lomas, and Colin "Jock" Blyth has remained consistent, with Scott Preece serving as the drummer since 1994.
