Circle Jerks

Circle Jerks were an American hardcore punk band from Hermosa Beach, California, formed in 1979. The ensemble was founded by Keith Morris and Greg Hetson, alongside Roger Rogerson and Lucky Lehrer. They achieved professional recognition for their debut studio recording Group Sex (1980), appearing in the documentary The Decline of Western Civilization (1981). Their recording career includes the studio recordings Wild in the Streets (1982) and Golden Shower of Hits (1983). The latter featured the track “Coup d'État” (1983), included in the film Repo Man (1984). Following the addition of Zander Schloss and Keith Clark, they released the studio recordings Wonderful (1985) and VI (1987), the latter featuring the track “Love Kills” (1987) from the film Sid and Nancy (1986). The ensemble became inactive in 1990 but resumed activity in 1994, releasing the studio recording Oddities, Abnormalities and Curiosities (1995). After a period of inactivity starting in 1995, they resumed activity in 2001 with drummer Kevin Fitzgerald until 2010.
