Jennifer Lynn Wasner, known professionally as Flock of Dimes, was born on April 16, 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland. She is an American singer and composer who began her musical journey at a young age, taking classical piano lessons and learning guitar from her mother. In college, she met Andy Stack, with whom she formed the band Wye Oak. After their highly regarded album Civilian (2011), Wasner embarked on her solo project Flock of Dimes, releasing her debut EP "Curtain" b/w "Apparition" in 2012. Her debut album, If You See Me, Say Yes (2016), was released on Partisan Records and marked a departure from the guitar-driven sound of Wye Oak, featuring lush synthesizers, intricate rhythms, and emotionally direct songwriting. The EP Like So Much Desire followed in 2020. In 2021, Wasner released Head of Roses on Sub Pop, a critically acclaimed record that blended organic instrumentation with electronic production and reflected on heartbreak, self-awareness, and independence. A companion album, Head of Roses: Phantom Limb (2022), expanded on its sound with alternate takes and new material. Beyond her solo work, Wasner has collaborated with artists such as Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso, and The National, earning recognition for her distinctive voice, versatility, and skillful blending of introspection and experimentation. After the release of the single "Pure Love" b/w "Time" in 2022, her third original full-length The Life You Save surfaced in October 2025.
