Cate Le Bon, born Cate Timothy on March 4, 1983, in Penboyr, Carmarthenshire, Wales, is a Welsh musician, songwriter, and record producer. She first gained public attention when she supported Gruff Rhys on his 2007 solo UK tour. Her initial release was the Welsh language EP Edrych yn Llygaid Ceffyl Benthyg in 2008, followed by her debut album Me Oh My in 2009. Le Bon's career progressed with the release of Cyrk and the Cyrk II EP in 2012, and she moved to Los Angeles in January 2013 to further her career in the US. Her third album, Mug Museum, was released later that year. In 2015, Le Bon collaborated with Tim Presley as DRINKS, releasing the albums Hermits on Holiday and Hippo Lite. She released her fourth studio album, Crab Day, in April 2016, followed by Reward in May 2019. Her sixth full-length studio album, Pompeii, was released in February 2022, followed in Spetember 2025 by Michelangelo Dying. Throughout her career, she has worked as a record producer with notable artists such as Deerhunter, John Grant, and Kurt Vile.
