Emery, an American post-hardcore band, was formed in 2001 in Rock Hill, South Carolina by Toby Morrell, Devin Shelton, Matt Carter, Josh Head, Joel Green, and Seth Studley. The group moved to Seattle for a more music-centered environment. Their debut EP The Columbus Eep Thee was released in October 2002. In January 2004, Emery signed with Tooth & Nail Records and released their first full-length album, The Weak's End. The band gained significant attention with the release of "Studying Politics" from their second studio album, The Question (August 2005). Following lineup changes and releases including I'm Only A Man (October 2007) and ...In Shallow Seas We Sail (June 2009), Emery continued to tour extensively. Notable albums from the 2010s include We Do What We Want (March 2011) and Eve (November 2018).
