Elli Erl

Elli Erl was born on April 25, 1979 in Straubing. She is a German singer and songwriter who works in the pop and soul genre and is best known for her victory on the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar. Elli Erl came to public attention in 2003 when she took part in the second season of the show and emerged as the winner in March 2004. The victory brought her a record deal and national attention. In June 2004, Elli Erl releases her debut album Shout It Out. The work mixes pop, soul and adult contemporary and reaches number 32 in the German album charts. The first single "This Is My Life" becomes a radio hit in Germany. The second studio album Better Than Silence follows in 2005, which follows on stylistically from its predecessor but achieves less commercial resonance.
