Dana Gavanski, a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Vancouver, British Columbia, began her music career after initially considering a path in film. In 2017, she released her first EP, Spring Demos. The following year, Gavanski released two singles, "One by One" and "Catch", both co-produced by Mike Lindsay of Tunng. She supported Damien Jurado on his European tour in early 2020. On March 27, 2020, Gavanski released her debut full-length album, Yesterday Is Gone, which received critical acclaim, including a 9/10 rating from Exclaim! music magazine and was named BBC Radio 6 Music's album of the week. In June 2020, she released a cover version of "I Talk to the Wind" by King Crimson, with proceeds donated to charity. Gavanski has since released the EPs Wind Songs (2020), Bouncing Ball (2022), and the albums When It Comes (2022), and Late Slap (2024), the latter through Full Time Hobby. In 2025, she followed with the EP Again Again.
