Case Oats is an American alternative country band based in Chicago, Illinois. The group consists of vocalist Casey Walker, guitarist Max Subar, bassist Jason Ashworth, fiddle player Scott Daniel, and drummer Spencer Tweedy. Formed in Chicago, the band began performing live around the city in 2018 before signing to North Carolina-based record label Merge Records in March 2025. In May 2025, Case Oats announced their debut album Last Missouri Exit, released on August 22 through Merge Records. The announcement was accompanied by the single "Bitter Root Lake." The group also performed at the South by Southwest festival and received praise for their performances.
