Antisect, an English punk rock band formed in Daventry in 1982, began their career playing a fast, D-beat style of hardcore punk. Their debut album In Darkness There is No Choice was released in 1984 on Spiderleg Records and reached number 3 on the UK Indie Chart. In 1986, they released the single "Out from the Void", which peaked at number 2 on the Indie singles chart. Known for addressing issues such as animal rights and social justice, Antisect played a significant role in the squat venue scene of the mid to late 1980s. Despite numerous lineup changes and a hiatus from 1987 to 2011, the band reformed and continued touring extensively across the UK, Europe, and the US.
