Annika Hoydal, born on November 19, 1945, in Torshavn, Faroe Islands, is a singer, actress, and composer known for setting the texts of poets such as Hans Andrias Djurhuus and William Heinesen to music. She spent part of her childhood in South America and later in Spain and Scotland. Hoydal's music career began with her debut performance in 1966 on the Faroe Islands. In 1973, she completed an acting training at the State Theatre School in Copenhagen. Notable albums include Mit eget land (1981), Til: Børn! (+vaksin)! Frá: Anniku (1998) and Havið (2000).
