You Am I

You Am I, an Australian rock band from Sydney, was formed in December 1989. The group initially consisted of Tim Rogers on vocals and guitar, his brother Jaimme Rogers on drums, and Nick Tischler on bass. Early releases included the EP Snake Tide (April 1991) and subsequent EPs such as Goddamn (May 1992). The band's lineup evolved with Andy Kent replacing Tischler on bass in April 1992, followed by Russell Hopkinson joining on drums. You Am I gained significant attention with their debut album Sound As Ever (October 1993), which featured the singles "Adam's Ribs", "Berlin Chair" and "Jaimme's Got a Gal". The band achieved notable success with three consecutive albums topping the ARIA Albums Chart: Hi Fi Way (February 1995), Hourly, Daily (July 1996) and #4 Record (April 1998). The band won multiple ARIA Music Awards, including Best Alternative Album for Sound As Ever in March 1994. Their album Hourly, Daily was awarded Album of the Year at the ARIA Music Awards of 1996. You Am I continued to release albums such as Saturday Night, 'Round Ten (September 1999), Dress Me Slowly (April 2001) and Deliverance (September 2002). The band's discography includes compilations like The Cream & The Crock... The Best Of You Am I (September 2003).
