UNIVERSE LEAGUE

Universe League (유니버스 리그) is a South Korean survival show that premiered on SBS on November 22, 2024. Hosted by Jay Park, the show features 42 contestants competing for a chance to debut in a global K-pop boy group. Unlike its predecessor, Universe Ticket, this season introduces a league format, where teams battle for the Prism Cup, and the winning team debuts. Contestants are drafted into teams and can be traded, similar to professional sports. The show is judged by industry veterans, including Lee Changsub (Team Groove), Yugyeom and EL CAPITXN (Team Beat), and Ten and Yangyang (Team Rhythm). It is produced by Lee Hwan Jin under F&F Entertainment. Auditions opened globally from April 22 to June 30, allowing any male born before 2011 to participate, regardless of nationality or agency affiliation. SBS revealed the 42 contestants on October 14. Universe League includes multiple elimination rounds, influenced by global fan votes. The rankings shifted throughout the competition, with top contenders like JL, Cha Woong Ki, and Park Han rising in the standings. The final debut team was determined by Episode 10, while others faced elimination. The show aired until January 24, 2025, concluding with the debut of the winning team.
