American alternative rock band, The Wonder Years, split between pop punk and 1990s emo revival. Formed in Lansdale, Pennsylavnia, in July 2005, they feature singer Dan "Soupy" Campbell Campbell and musicians Casey Cavaliere (lead guitar), Matt Brasch (rhythm guitar), Nick Steinborn (keyboards, guitar), Josh Martin (bass) and Mike Kennedy (drums, percussion). After an energetic debut with the album Get Stoked on It! (2007), subsequent albums have adopted more introspective themes than catchy, sing-along melodies, as evidenced by The Upsides (2010) and Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing (2011). Similarly, after The Greatest Generation (2013), considered their masterwork, and No Closer to Heaven (2015), the musical style broadens from just punk pop or emo to post-hardcore and alternative rock in general on Sister Cities (2018), followed by The Hum Goes On Forever (2022). In 2017, The Wonder Years began a series entitled Burst & Decay, including the acoustic EP released that year, followed by a second volume in 2020 and a live recording, Burst & Decay (Live from New York) in 2023. The album Burst & Decay (Volume III) follows in 2025.
