Tarō Kobayashi

Taro Kobayashi (born June 26, 1990) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. He began his musical career in high school with the band *Taro Kobayashi to Masakari Katsuidaazu*, winning a major music event hosted by the TV program Street Fighters in 2008. After high school, he launched a solo career, then briefly led the band Taro Kobayashi to YE\$MAN before returning to solo work. His solo project officially began in late 2009, with the release of his debut album Orkonpood in 2010, which gained attention in Japan’s indie rock scene. In 2012, he made his major label debut with the album MILESTONE. Known for his raw, powerful vocals and guitar-driven sound, Kobayashi has continued evolving musically. In 2018, he released the EP SQUEEZE on his own label MOTHERSMILK RECORD, followed by the album Gohō (2022). In December 2022, he signed with DOLCESTAR. In 2025, Kobayashi released the single "Koe", a track that highlights his signature blend of emotional depth and gritty rock energy, further solidifying his place as a unique voice in Japan’s singer-songwriter landscape.
