STS9

Sound Tribe Sector 9, also known as STS9, is an instrumental band whose sound is based heavily on instrumental rock and electronic music, funk, jazz, drum and bass, psychedelia, and hip hop, originating from Snellville, Georgia. Formed in 1997, they played their first show on October 3 of the same year. STS9 released their album Interplanetary Escape Vehicle in 1999, followed by Offered Schematics Suggesting Peace in 2000. They have since released numerous albums, including Artifact (2005) and The Universe Inside (2016). STS9 has headlined major festivals such as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Electric Forest Festival. The band's album Artifact reached number 12 on Billboard’s Top Electronic Albums in 2005. They have also been involved in significant activism efforts, raising funds for organizations like the Make it Right Foundation. STS9 continues to tour extensively and has built a loyal fan base across the United States. The band also released Chromalight (2024) and Human Dream 1 (2025).
