Shadow Blow

Shadow Blow (José Ariel Fernández Soto, born in Santo Domingo on July 12, 1983) is a Dominican urban artist and producer whose background runs through formal music training and the street-level energy of the capital’s rap and dembow scene. As a child he studied classical music at the National Conservatory, learning piano and percussion, but he gravitated toward urban music while still young, initially wanting to work behind the boards before stepping out as a performer. His breakthrough came in 2010 with “Tu Ere la Que Ta,” later amplified through a remix with Poeta Callejero, and he followed by expanding his profile through collaborations and hook-driven singles, including Sensato’s “Oh Oh” (2013). In the mid-2010s he leaned into romantic-urban writing on tracks like “Mensaje Directo (DM)” (2015) and the Mozart La Para collaboration “Tu Con el y Yo Con Ella” (2015), then packaged his sound on En el Area The Mix Tape (2016). He returned with the album 2da Parte (2020), bringing in guests such as Químico Ultra Mega, Akim, and Lito Kirino, and in 2023 he teamed with Lapiz Conciente for the joint album Saga The Album while also releasing “Solo Tú y Yo” with Yailin La Más Viral. In 2025, Shadow Blow opened a new chapter with the album FLORE’, crossed into bigger street-pop moments on “ZAZA” with Alofoke Music and Don Miguelo, and closed the year with the high-visibility collaboration “Me tocó verte brillar” alongside Alofoke Music, Michael Flores, and Jlexis.
