It was in November 2014 that young Italian rapper Sfera Ebbasta, born on December 7, 1992 in Sesto San Giovanni, Lombardy, published his first video on YouTube. At the time, he had just one mixtape to his credit, which remained very rare and mysterious. He decided to collaborate with producer Charlie Charles and, following the publication of numerous other videos, saw his fame explode on the other side of the Alps thanks to a project available as a free download and a signing to Roccia Music. One track in particular crystallizes the craze surrounding Sfera Ebbasta: "Ciny " refers to the Milan neighborhood he hails from, Cinisello Balsamo. In 2016, he collaborated on the album by Marseille rapper SCH, who immediately returned the favor on his homonymous debut opus released by Def Jam France/Universal. In 2018, he released two versions of the Rockstar album, one Italian and the other international, featuring guest appearances by artists such as Quavo, Miami Yacine, Tinie Tempah, DrefGold, Rich the Kid and Lary Over. He then collaborated with Italian rappers such as Mahmood, Fabri Fibra and Luché. In 2020, he added a new chapter to his discography with Famoso, featuring the single "Baby". Two years later, the EP Italiano is a collaboration with Rvssian, before collaborations with Thasup and Booba, who invites him to sing at the Stade de France in September 2022. The follow-up to the album released in 2015, X2VR welcomes a host of collaborators in 2023, including Geolier, Baby Gang, Simba La Rue, Marracash and Elodie. Rated No.1 in Italy and Switzerland, it was followed after a concert at Milan's San Siro stadium by Santana Money Gang (2025), produced as a duet with Shiva and again ranked No.1 for the fifth time in a row in album sales.
