DTF

DTF are a French rap duo formed in Ivry-sur-Seine in 2015. Featuring the rappers RTI and RKM, the group's initials are an abbreviation of the French phrase 'dans ta face' meaning 'in your face'. Their music draws influence from EDM styles as well as rap, featuring the sustained 808 bass and stuttering hats of Atlanta trap alongside the rhythms and synth presets of tropical house. DTF's first release was the debut EP Le H Avant le B (2015), available as a free download on the French rap website HauteCulture. Signing with QLF Records, the duo released their debut album La Hass Avant le Bonheur in 2016. Later that year they released the singles “La Vida,” “Comme un fou,” and “Ouais” in anticipation of their second studio album Sans Rêve (2017). The album also contained the single “Rue de la Fortune” as well as their most successful track “100 rêves,” streamed more than 13 million times. In 2019, DTF returned with the singles “Me Gusta” and “Kira,” the first two singles from their third full-length On Ira Où?, released in October of that year. Propelled by the hit single “Dans la ville” featuring PNL’s N.O.S, the album climbed to Number 4 in France and obtained gold certification shortly after. Two years later, DTF made a triumphant comeback with the full-length Double Star, which debuted at Number 3 on the French charts. “Dans la savane,” the lead single from the album, went to Number 47 on SNEP’s singles chart, and “Boyz” hit Number 89.
