Saves the Day

American rock band Saves the Day were founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Conley in 1997 under the name Sefler. After releasing the acoustic EP I'm Sorry I'm Leaving in 1999, the group secured a deal with Equal Vision Records and issued their debut full‑length Can't Slow Down the same year. The breakthrough came with the 2001 album Stay What You Are, which sold 200,000 copies and produced the MTV2‑played singles "At Your Funeral" and "Freakish". In 2003, the band signed with DreamWorks and released In Reverie, though the album received limited support and the label folded into Interscope shortly thereafter. Saves the Day returned to Vagrant Records for Sound the Alarm (2006) and the concept trilogy, Under the Boards (2007) and Daybreak (2011), the latter issued by Razor & Tie. Subsequent releases include the self‑titled album Saves the Day (2013) and 9 (2018) on Equal Vision. Throughout its career, the band toured extensively, collaborated with acts such as Say Anything and Razor & Tie, and maintained a consistent presence in the U.S. alternative rock scene, achieving notable chart positions and sustaining a dedicated fan base.
