Samsas Traum is a German-language music project founded in 1996 by Alexander Kaschte. The projectâs name is derived from Franz Kafkaâs character Gregor Samsa in The Metamorphosis. In 1999, Samsas Traum signed with Trisol Music Group and released its debut album Die Liebe Gottes: Eine Märchenhafte Black Metal Operette. Following early lineup changes and the departure of several initial members, Kaschte became the sole constant driving force behind the project, later incorporating a rotating group of guest musicians, including saxophonist Daniel Schröder. Early releases included Oh Luna Mein (2000) and Utopia (2001), alongside compilation and demo material. In 2007, Samsas Traum released both Heiliges Herz â Das Schwert Deiner Sonne and Wenn Schwarzer Regen. After a farewell concert in Bochum in 2011, Kaschte announced a shift toward studio-focused work. Subsequent releases included Asenâka â Ein Märchen Für Kinder Und Solche, Die Es Werden Wollen (2012).
