Red Sparowes, an American post-rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 2003 as a side project for its members. The group comprised current and former members of bands such as Isis, Marriages, and the Nocturnes. Red Sparowes signed to Neurot Recordings, the label of Neurosis, and released their debut album At the Soundless Dawn in 2005. This was followed by a split 12" album with Gregor Samsa and extensive touring with bands like Pelican and Big Business. Their second studio album, Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun, was released in 2006. In 2010, they released The Fear is Excruciating, but Therein Lies the Answer. After a hiatus starting in late 2011, Red Sparowes announced their return with a performance at the Roadburn festival in 2020.
