Pete Murray

Peter Kenneth Murray, born on 14 October 1969, in Chinchilla, Australia, is a singer known for his contributions to Australian rock and pop music. He began playing guitar at age 22 and started performing small gigs around the country with flautist Col McIntyre. In 2001, he released his debut EP D Day, followed by the album The Game, marking his entry into the music industry. His breakthrough came in 2003 with the release of Feeler, his first studio album under Columbia/Sony. The title track gained significant radio play, propelling the album to number one on the Australian charts and achieving six times platinum status by 2008. His subsequent albums, including See the Sun (2005), Summer at Eureka (2008), and Blue Sky Blue (2011), also reached the top of the charts. Notable singles from these albums include "Better Days", "Opportunity", and "You Pick Me Up". He has received 17 ARIA nominations throughout his career, highlighting his impact on Australian music. In 2022, the EPs The Night and Before I Go were reunited in the album The Night Before I Go, issued in October that year. The sixth studio album Camacho followed in February 2023 and the Best of Pete Murray LP in May. In October 2025, the singer-songwriter released his seventh full-length, Longing.
