Pesado

Founded on July 2, 1993 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, Grupo Pesado is a group specializing in the conjunto norteño style, which has contributed to the renewal of the style. This small group was founded by accordionist and singer Beto Zapata, and bajo quintista Pepe Elizondo. It was completed by Toño Pequeño on bass, Luis Mario Garza Hernández on drums and Julio Támez on percussion. The band's musical background makes it a combination of several groups in which its members have taken part: Los Nuevos Cometas de Monterrey, Pioneros del Norte and Los Bárbaros del Norte. Extremely popular in the 1990s, the group scored a number of hits, including "Te lo Pido por Favor", "No Tengas Miedo de Llorar", "Llegó el Amor", "Ayúdame" (1994) and "Y Te Vas " (2000). With extreme regularity, between the first album, Ayúdame a Olvidar (1993) and Los Ángeles Existen (2018), the band released albums every year, recording 25 opuses in as many years, including Llegó el Amor, released in 1994, which remains their most popular work.
