Palomo

Formed in 1992 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Grupo Palomo emerged as a distinctive voice in the norteño-romántico genre, blending traditional Mexican instrumentation with heartfelt romantic themes. Founded by Homero Palomo (director, bajo sexto, and second voice), the band solidified its lineup with José Ángel Fresnillo (lead vocals), Heriberto Eguía (accordion), Arturo Narváez (bass), Víctor Estrada (drums), and David Hernández (percussion). Their early work included covers and tributes to artists like Ramón Ayala, but it was their original material that propelled them to prominence. Their 1998 self-titled debut album introduced songs like "No Estoy Dispuesto," "Solo," "Dime," and "Aquí Estoy." The 2000 release of No Llores Más featured the hit "Te Vas Con Él," further cementing their status in the Regional Mexican music scene. However, it was the 2001 single "No Me Conoces Aún," penned by Flor Yvone, that became their signature song, topping Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart for 30 weeks and remaining on the list for 49 weeks. Over the years, Palomo has continued to release music that resonates with fans, including albums like Situaciones (2002) and Volando Alto (2021), the latter earning them a Latin Grammy Award for Best Norteño Album. Their recent works, such as Con Zagar (2023) and La Rama del Mezquite (2023), showcase their enduring appeal and commitment to the genre.
