Penelope Scott, born April 25, 2000, in the United States, is an American singer and producer whose early exposure to music came from a father who taught her microphone use and a mother who encouraged piano lessons. She began publishing tracks on SoundCloud in 2018 under the alias Honey Morello and released her first EP, Goblin Hours, on Bandcamp in October 2019. In early 2020 she compiled her early work into the Junkyard and The Junkyard 2 collections, the latter featuring the viral track "Sweet Hibiscus Tea".Her debut studio album, Public Void, dropped on August 29, 2020, followed by the single "Born2Run" in November 2020; the song "Rät" from the album peaked at number 29 on Billboardâs Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart in November 2020. Scott expanded her discography with the Hazards EP in August 2021, and the 2023 releases Girl's Night and Mysteries for Rats (combined as a double EP on vinyl). In February 2025 she issued the single "Girl's Always Right" ahead of her second album, Water Dogs, released March 14, 2025. Her work has earned recognition on Rolling Stoneâs Breakthrough 25 list (November 2020) and has accumulated millions of streams illustrating her impact within the indie pop and pop music scenes.
