Dodie

English singer/songwriter Dodie was born Dorothy Clark on April 11, 1995 in Epping, Essex. Upon completion of secondary school at The Leventhorpe School, she relocated to Bath and began her first YouTube channel in 2007 where she posted original songs and content. She solidified her online presence with the video channel “doodleoodle”, which launched in 2011 with the song “Rain”. She regularly released new material, usually acoustic, for years and built a large online audience. Her first single “Little Mosquito” came out in 2013 and was followed by “Social Dance” in 2014. She issued her debut EP, 2016’s Intertwined, hit the top 40 in the UK and Ireland, and that collection of intimate songs went top 10 in the United States on the Folk and Indie charts. 2017’s EP You, which contained the single “6/10”, went top 10 in those same countries and charts, and 2019’s Human hit top 5 on the UK album chart, as well as on the U.S. Folk and Indie chart. In 2019 Dodie had the biggest charting single of her career to that point with “Boys Like You” (ranked number 99 in Scottish charts), and two years later that song would appear on her debut LP, 2021’s Build a Problem. After the release of the EP Hot Mess in September 2022, she formed the band Fizz with Orla Gartland, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown, releasing the album The Secret to Life in October 2023. Later that year, she collaborated with Cory Wong on “Call Me Wild”, before recording a cover of the musical tune “Old Devil Moon” for the tribute album Chet Baker Re:imagined (2025). Her sophomore full-length, Not for Lack of Trying, was released in October 2025, featuring singles “I'm Fine!”, “I Feel Bad for You, Dave”, and “Darling, Angel Baby” with Greta Isaac.
