Night Riots, an American alternative rock band from San Luis Obispo, California, formed in 2010. The band members met in middle school and began playing instruments together in high school. Initially known as PK, they self-released their debut album Into the Roaring in 2010. In 2013, Night Riots independently released their first EP, Young Lore, following a successful crowd-funding campaign. The band gained traction with the single "Contagious" in 2014, which led to a US tour supporting K.Flay and signing with Sumerian Records. Their second EP, Howl, was released in January 2015. Night Riots' first full-length album under Sumerian Records, Love Gloom, was released in October 2016. In July 2019, they released their second full-length studio album, New State of Mind. The band announced an extended hiatus in 2020.
