NAMBA69, a Japanese rock band, was formed in March 2013 by Akihiro Namba, who had previously been active as a solo artist under the name AKIHIRO NAMBA. The band initially consisted of Namba on vocals and bass, K5 on guitar, and SAMBU on drums. Their debut single, "MELODIC PUNKS NOT DEAD!!!" was released in June 2014, produced by Ryan Green, who had previously worked with Hi-STANDARD. The band's first album, 21st CENTURY DREAMS, followed in December of the same year. In 2015, they released the mini-album LET IT ROCK and embarked on extensive tours to support their releases. Ko-hey, formerly of ARTEMA, joined as a permanent member in June 2016, transitioning the band into a four-piece lineup. NAMBA69 established the joint label POP SPEED RECORDS with JMS in February 2017 and released the mini-album HEROES that April. The band's activities were temporarily halted in August 2022 following the departure of drummer MORO, leading to the cancellation of their scheduled tour.
