HEY-SMITH

HEY‑SMITH formed in 2006 in Toyonaka, Osaka, Japan, by local musicians who blended punk rock with melodic hardcore and brass. Their debut demo in July 2007 sold about 7,000 copies, establishing a fan base that expanded through over 150 live shows a year. The first mini‑album, Proud and Loud, debuted on 5 August 2009 under Caffeine Bomb Organics, followed by the full‑length 14‑Fourteen‑ on 20 January 2010 and a nationwide tour of 51 venues. Free Your Mind (2011) topped the Oricon Indie chart, and Now Album (May 2013) entered the general Oricon top ten. The U.S. release of 14‑Fourteen‑ in July 2013 broadened their international reach. STOP the WAR (18 May 2016) reached eighth on the Oricon general chart, while Life in the Sun (7 November 2021) peaked at number 7. In 2023, the single "Say My Name" became the closing theme for the anime Tokyo Revengers and was released by Pony Canyon, marking the band’s first anime collaboration. The studio album Rest in Punk was issued on 1 November 2023.
