My Dying Bride

My Dying Bride is a doom metal band founded in the UK in 1990. Based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, the band is one of the genre's 'Big Three' alongside Paradise Lost and Anathema. One of the EPs Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empyrium (1991) from the band's early phase is still dominated by clear death metal influences. My Dying Bride released their debut album As the Flower Withers in 1992, and their third studio album The Angel and the Dark River made its first chart entry in Germany in 1995 at number 61. The band regularly released further albums. In addition, there are repeated line-up changes among the band members. My Dying Bride celebrate their 20th anniversary with the double album Evinta. On it, they interpret their own songs in a symphonic guise. The album A Map of All Our Failures, released a year later, reaches number 82 in Germany. The follow-up Feel the Misery also made it into the German charts at number 57 in 2015. The band's portfolio also includes various compilations such as the masterpiece 3, released in 2016, followed by another studio album, The Ghost of Orion, in 2020. The album reached number 12 in the German charts and achieved further top placings with number 22 in Austria and number 19 in Switzerland. Four years later, My Dying Bride released another studio album, A Mortal Binding.
