Midland

American country band Midland were three friends, all with a background in country music, who decided to form a band after they started jamming together at bass guitarist Duddy's wedding. They named themselves after the Dwight Yoakam song 'Fair to Midland'. They recorded a series of tracks at Sonic Ranch Studios and released their first single 'Fourteen Gears' in 2015. They signed to Big Machine Records in 2016 and released a self-titled EP in the same year. This included the track 'Drinkin' Problem' which was released as a single in 2017 and reached number four in the US Country Singles Chart and number one in the Canadian Country Singles Chart. It also reached number 45 in the US Billboard Chart and achieved platinum sales. 'Drinkin' Problem' was also included in the band's debut album 'On the Rocks' which was released in 2017 and reached number two in the US Country Albums Chart. The second single to be released from this album was 'Make a Little' in 2017 followed by 'Burn Out' in 2018. Midland performed as the support act for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in 2017. The following year they toured with Little Big Town and Thomas Rhett. In 2019, they released the single 'Mr Lonely' which was a pre-release for the album 'Let It Roll', also released in 2019.
