California Sunrise followed in 2016, topping the country chart and producing back-to-back Number 1 singles with "Head Over Boots" and "Dirt On My Boots." 'A third single, "Heartache On the Dancefloor," topped the Canadian country chart in 2017. Two years later, Jon Pardi returned to Number 1 in both countries with "Heartache Medication," the title track from his third studio album. "Ain't Always the Cowboy" and "Tequila Little Time" both enjoyed success on both sides of the American/Canadian border, with Heartache Medication received a nomination for "Album of the Year" and the 2020 CMA Awards. Two years later, he released "Last Night Lonely," which became his fourth Number 1 hit in America and his fifth in Canada. The song served as the lead single for Mr. Saturday Night, Pardi's fourth studio album, which debuted at Number 5 on the US Top Country Albums chart upon its release in September 2022.
