Matchbook Romance is an American rock band formed in 1997 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Founded by Andrew Jordan and Ryan Kienle as Fizzlewink, the initial lineup included drummer Jon Dunham and later guitarist PJ Manzo. The ensemble released the independent album Who's Listening in 2001 before recruiting guitarist Ryan "Judas" DePaolo and drummer Aaron Stern. After performing as The Getaway, the group signed with Epitaph Records and adopted the name Matchbook Romance. Under the direction of Brett Gurewitz, the band released the EP West for Wishing and the debut album Stories and Alibis in 2003. The single "Monsters" appeared in 2005, followed by the second album Voices in February 2006. The group announced an indefinite hiatus in March 2007. Following occasional reunion performances between 2009 and 2016, the ensemble resumed activity in December 2025. In January 2026, the band released the single "Something Worse Than the Night".
