Manafest

Christopher Scott Greenwood, born July 19 1979 in Pickering, Ontario, Canada, is a Canadian singer who performs under the stage name Manafest. After a skateboarding accident in 1998 redirected his focus to music, he began writing rap and hip‑hop tracks, releasing the EP Misled Youth in 2001, which earned the 2002 GMA Canada Covenant Award for Modern Rock/Alternative Song of the Year with the track "Freedom". Manafest signed with BEC Recordings in 2005, issuing Epiphany the same year; the album garnered several nominations and the 2005 GMA Canada Covenant Award for Rap/Hip‑Hop Album of the Year. Subsequent releases-Glory (2006), Citizens Activ (2008), The Chase (2010), Fighter (2012), The Moment (2014), Reborn (2015), and Stones (2017)-demonstrated a shift from urban hip‑hop to a heavier rap‑rock sound, with singles such as "Avalanche" charting on the Billboard Christian Songs list. The live album Live In Concert (2011) won Rap/Hip‑Hop Album of the Year at the 2011 GMA Canada Covenant Awards. Manafest has received multiple nominations at the GMA Dove Awards and Juno Awards, including Glory (2007) and The Chase (2011) for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year. After parting with BEC Recordings in 2015, he continued to release music independently, with I Run With Wolves arriving in 2022.
