Laura Mixon Story Elvington is an American singer-songwriter known for her contributions to contemporary Christian music. She began her career in 1996 as a bass player with Silers Bald and released four independent albums with them before leaving to pursue a solo career. In 2002, she independently released her first solo album Indescribable. Her breakthrough came when Chris Tomlin recorded the title track for his album Arriving in 2004. Story's second studio album, Blessings, achieved significant success, debuting at Number 1 on Billboardâs Top Christian Albums and Americana/Folk Albums charts and peaking at number 30 on the Billboard 200. The title track "Blessings" reached Number 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart and won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song.
