King Tee

Roger McBride, known professionally as King T (formerly known as King Tee), and born on December 14, 1968, in Compton, California, is a West Coast hip-hop rapper. He emerged as one of Compton's earliest hip-hop artists and released his debut album Act a Fool under Capitol Records in 1988, featuring hit singles "Act a Fool" and "Payback's a Mutha". King Tee worked primarily with producer DJ Pooh and mentored Tha Alkaholiks, helping them release their debut album 21 & Over in 1993. He influenced the Notorious B.I.G., who imitated his deep voice and flow on the 1994 album Ready to Die. After leaving Capitol, King Tee signed with MCA and released IV Life in 1994. In 2002, he released The Kingdom Come, produced by Dr. Dre and DJ Battlecat. His daughter Heaven died in a car accident on May 19, 2009.
