Kiesza

Kiesa Rae Ellestad, who performs a mix of house, electronic, and dance music as Kiesza, is a Canadian singer and instrumentalist whose single and EP Hideaway won her international fame. Born in Calgary on January 16, 1989, she studied theatre and dance as a child, served in the Royal Canadian Navy, and won a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 2014, she released an EP titled Hideaway which went to number 5 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart. The title track topped the Official UK Singles Chart in 2014, went to number 5 on the Hot Canadian Digital Song Sales and Dance Club Songs charts, peaked at number 7 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, and placed at number 17 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40. "Giant in My Heart" (2014) reached number four in the UK and number 14 on the Dance/Electronic Chart in America with the album Sound of a Woman topping the chart. After reaching Number 1 with Sound of a Woman, Kiesza released a number of EPs during the late 2010s and early 2020s, including Weird Kid (2018), Tommy (2022), and Dancing and Crying: Vol 1 (2024). Dancing and Crying: Vol 1 featured her first hit single in years, "I Go Dance," which debuted at number 40 on America's Top 40 Radio Dance & Mix Show Songs chart.
