I Break Horses, a Swedish indie rock band formed in 2008, consists of Maria Lindén and Fredrik Balck. The duo took their name from a song by Bill Callahan. Their debut studio album Hearts was released in 2011 through Bella Union and received favorable reviews. The album included the singles "Hearts" and "Winter Beats". Following this release, I Break Horses embarked on tours with M83 in America and Sigur Rós in 2013. Their second album, Chiaroscuro, was released in 2014, followed by a tour that spring. The band's third album, Warnings, was released in 2020.
