Wild Nothing is an American indie rock project formed in 2009 in Blacksburg, Virginia, by multi-instrumentalist Jack Tatum. After playing in bands like Jack and the Whale and FACEPAINT, Tatum's demos, including a cover of Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting", gained attention, leading to his signing with Captured Tracks. The band released their debut single, "Summer Holiday" (2009), followed by Gemini in 2010. Gemini received critical acclaim, ranking forty-ninth on Pitchfork's best albums of 2010 list and thirty-sixth on Amazon Music editors' list. Wild Nothing continued with the EP Golden Haze (2010) and their second album, Nocturne, in 2012, which debuted at Number 1 on both Billboard New Artist and Alternative New Artist charts. Subsequent releases include Life of Pause (2016), Indigo (2018), and Hold (2023). Notable songs from these albums include "To Know You", "TV Queen", and "Letting Go".
