Hey Mercedes

Hey Mercedes was an alternative rock band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois, United States. Formed in 1999 by former members of Braid—Bob Nanna, Todd Bell, and Damon Atkinson—the group initially struggled to find a guitarist before Mark Dawursk joined in April 2000. Their self-titled EP was released in 2000, through Polyvinyl Record Co., showcasing a mix of syncopated drum parts with melodic structures. The band signed with Vagrant Records and released their debut album Everynight Fire Works in 2001. They toured extensively, performing over 114 shows in 2001 alone. After parting ways with Dawursk, they continued performing and released the companion EP The Weekend Ep in 2002. Their second album, Loses Control, was released in 2003. Hey Mercedes disbanded in 2005.
