Gia Margaret

Trained as a classical pianist, composer and singer Gia Margaret pursued specialized studies, which she later abandoned so as not to limit her creativity. With no desire to pursue a career as a concert pianist, the Chicago-born pianist prefers to develop her own compositions and perform them live. This led to the release of her critically acclaimed debut folk album, There's Always Glimmer, in 2018, which led to a U.S. tour with Novo Amor and a subsequent headlining U.K. tour, interrupted due to a vocal blackout. Following an appearance at the SXSW festival in Austin (Texas), several of her tracks, such as "Lucky for You" and "No Fun", racked up millions of listens, confirming her choice and giving her more heart for the production of Gia Margaret (2020), more oriented towards ambient music, in order to preserve her vocal cords. She continues to enjoy critical acclaim and, after two full-length recordings for Orindal Records, signs with independent label Jagjaguwar for the recording of Romantic Piano (2023). This third album sees the musician experimenting with production with David Bazan and Yoni Wolf, using live sound samples mixed with layers of piano and synthesizer. One of her tracks, "Hinoki Wood", proved to be a surprise hit, making the rounds of the world's music recognition platforms, and the clip of which is included in the official ranking of most viewed videos. After the release of the isolated single "Mourning Dove" in 2024, the musician returned in 2026 with the tracks "Everyone Around Me Dancing", "Good Friend" and "Alive Inside", taken from the album Singing.
